Senior members of the FreightScan management team identified the problem of measuring dimensional weight of static cargo in 2002, and set about the task of developing a solution that would exceed all industry standards for static dimming systems. Solutions could be found for conveyor-belt driven cargo but not for the loose cargo, skids and pallets handled in space and time constrained environments that are the hallmark of many cargo operations during peak times. Drawing upon the unique expertise of engineering talent from defense and aerospace industries, the company’s flagship product, FreightScan FS100, was completed in 2006.
Building on the FS100 value proposition, FreightScan began exploring how it could develop a system to dimension cargo for high volume and cross-docking facilities more efficiently. In late 2008 FreightScan announced the FL1000, the world's first forklift mounted dimensioning system.
At the same time, FreightScan began exploring how it could develop a security product to assist cargo companies with congressionally mandated screening requirements. The result is CargoVizion, a non-radiation screening device that detects and locates potential threat objects and materials. CargoVizion has been presented to the TSA and FreightScan is pursuing the necessary steps for inclusion on the Qualified Provider List.
Dedicated to innovation that blends seamlessly with existing workflow, the FreightScan team is bringing leading edge business solutions to solve some of the largest pain points in the freight industry. With the FS100, the FL1000 and CargoVizion, FreightScan is improving profits, performance and compliance across all segments of the supply chain.
